Q&A – DMX Music Visualization Software
Everything about the software for controlling stage lighting by music using the patented LTCA technology.
Basic Information
What is DMX Music Visualization?
DMX Music Visualization is software developed by SOH that uses the internationally patented LTCA (Light Technology Controlled by Audio) technology to control stage lighting directly by an audio signal. The program analyzes the audio input in real time and automatically generates a dynamic light show that corresponds with the music. It uses the industry-standard DMX512 protocol for fixture control.
What is LTCA technology?
LTCA (Light Technology Controlled by Audio) is an internationally patented technology developed by SOH for direct, centralized control of an entire lighting rig purely by an audio signal. The system operates fully autonomously without an operator, controlling dozens of lighting fixtures so that the light show incorporates artistic elements from the music. Unlike a human lighting operator, it reacts instantly to unpredictable changes in the music and enables non-stop live, dynamic lighting scenes.
What are the main advantages over manual control by a lighting operator?
- Fully autonomous operation without an operator
- Centralized control – individual lighting effects complement each other
- Light show corresponds with the music and incorporates artistic elements from the audio
- Significantly better utilization of lighting equipment
- Ability to individually control dozens of lighting effects simultaneously
- Non-stop live and dynamic creation of lighting scenes
- Fast reaction to unpredictable changes in the music
- Long-term reliable and trouble-free operation
What operating systems does the software support?
DMX Music Visualization is designed for Microsoft Windows. It is available as an MSI installer or ZIP archive. USB Interface drivers are included in the installation package.
Download and Licensing
Can I try the software for free?
Yes! On the Music Visualization download page you will find a free demo version that lets you control the first 10 DMX channels at no cost. Available downloads:
- Windows Installer: DMX-Music-Visualization.msi
- ZIP Archive: DMX-Music-Visualization.zip
How many DMX channels can I control?
It depends on your license:
- Demo (free): 10 DMX channels
- Basic: 24 attributes (previously 20, free upgrade since version 3.4)
- Full license 1024: 1,024 DMX channels (2 independent universes) + ArtNet
- Full license 3072: up to 3,072 DMX channels (6 universes) via ArtNet
For license details and pricing, contact us at +420 272 272 500 or eshop@soh.cz.
What hardware do I need to connect to DMX fixtures?
To connect lighting fixtures you need a DMX512 USB Interface, available in our e-shop at eshop.soh.cz. USB Interface drivers are included in the software installation package. For larger installations with ArtNet support, a network connection can be used.
