DMX Music Visualization

Build a complete lighting show in just a few minutes.a

The short version: to generate a full SHOW, all you need to do is select your fixtures from the GDTF Stage Studio library and confirm everything with the Enter key.

Download DMX Music Visualization at: https://www.soh.cz/en/download/music-visualization
If you want to create a project manually (offline) without AI, you can find the guide here.

Create a show in just a few clicks with Music Visualization

1. Select your fixtures in GDTF Stage Studio

In GDTF Stage Studio, choose your fixtures from a database of more than 8,500 libraries. Under My List, set the number of units for each model. Each fixture's DMX mode (for example, whether it uses 8 or 12 channels) can be chosen on that fixture's detail page.

If you can't find a matching GDTF library for your lights: use the Fixture Editor dialog and, via Import GDTF/PDF, insert the PDF manual — the AI will create the Fixtures for you directly in the program.

2. Export and import into DMX Music Visualization

Click DMX, then the Export TXT button. Drag the file into the DMX Music Visualization program. From here on, all you have to do is press Enter.

4. Generate the show

6. Choose a project type

Pick the type of project. For a typical, all-purpose setup geared toward music production, Extended Project is the best choice.

7. Set up zones (optional)

Here you can define the zones where your moving fixtures should aim. For this sample project it isn't needed, so choose No / Cancel. (For a finished project you can later remap the zone for Pan and Tilt via File -> Remap Zone for All Project)

8. Prompts and AI model

Likewise, choose No if you don't want to change the prompts or the generative AI model.

If you instead confirm Yes to edit the individual prompts, you can switch the generative model type between Fast, Standard, and Pro.

9. Generate the quick-function buttons

Once the music project has been generated, confirm that you also want to generate the buttons for quick functions for your fixtures.

10. Clear the previous buttons

Confirm deletion of the previous buttons without saving by choosing No.

✓ Done — your project is ready!

Through the DJ Buttons you can try out the sample scenes and chases for your fixtures. And when you play music, the lights will react to your playlist right away.

Changing the audio input

If you want to change the audio input, use the dialog in Configuration → Audio Setting. The Sound Output option analyzes the music played on your PC, or you can select a Microphone or Line IN input.

The optimal level sits around this arrow. If the input signal level is too high or too low, the program recalibrates it automatically.

Tip: calibration is intentionally set to take roughly 10 minutes to fully kick in, so that the dynamics between tracks aren't lost.

Generate a wiring diagram

In GDTF Stage Studio you can generate a wiring diagram showing the addresses of your fixtures.
